JOB PURPOSE:
To assist in providing supplies and equipment in an efficient manner, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
KEY
Responsibilities:
1.
Ensure all telephone orders are confirmed with a written purchase order.
2.
Ensure all purchase orders are properly prepared, signed and submitted as required in procurement policies and procedures.
3.
Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc.
, and return to vendor as required.
4.
Assist in developing methods for determining quantity of supplies and equipment required.
5.
Make written and oral reports/ recommendations to the purchasing agent concerning procurement procedure as directed.
6.
Ensure various departments are properly charged with supplies they have received for cost allocation purposes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
oMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
oMust possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
oMust be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
oMust possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
oMust possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
oMust possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
oMust be able to follow written and oral instructions.
oAttends and participates in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification, as required.
oAttends and participates in mandatory in-services.
oHonors patients/residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
oComply with corporate compliance program.
oReports job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and body fluids and others as necessary.
oFollows established safety regulations, to include fire protection & prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
oFollows established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma, or GED.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
On-the-job training provided.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Previous long term care experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
